In order to download, you must have a compatible file transfer protocol. Currently, CNet supports Xmodem, Ymodem, Zmodem, and Kermit. Zmodem is popular on the Amiga, however most other computers use either Xmodem or Ymodem. You will have an option to set your protocol each time you download. Check your terminal program to see which one(s) you can support.
To download an item from CNet, enter the appropriate subboard, then use the DOWNLOAD command followed by the item number. You may not download a message, only a file. Usually, only files are kept in the Upload area, and only messages are kept in the Message base, but it is POSSIBLE that items of one type are found in the opposite area. When you scan items, files have the additional information of Size and a short description accompanying them.
CNet will first check to see that you have enough credits for the download.
